Saffron Flag at Sajjangad Fort is now a permanent symbol of pride and heritage in Satara. On May 14, 2025, during the birth anniversary celebrations of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, a saffron flag was ceremoniously hoisted on the bastion of the historic Sajjangad Fort. This momentous event was organized by the Durgnad Pratishthan in collaboration with local devotees and cultural organizations dedicated to preserving Maratha history.

The saffron flag represents the valor and spirit of the Maratha warriors, and its permanent placement atop the fort reflects a commitment to honor the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The event featured traditional prayers and tributes to both Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Sambhaji Maharaj, emphasizing the enduring respect for these iconic figures.
Sajjangad Fort, known as the final resting place of the saint Samarth Ramdas, holds great religious and historical significance. The flag now flying permanently there strengthens the connection between Maratha pride, spirituality, and the region’s rich cultural traditions.
This permanent saffron flag installation at Sajjangad Fort is more than a symbol — it is a lasting tribute to Maharashtra’s heroic past and an inspiration for future generations.
